Not landscaping. Not contracting.
This is design… from the ground up.
I’m Ian, a garden and landscape designer with over 25 years’ experience helping people make sense of their outdoor space. From city spaces to country gardens, public projects and civic spaces with bigger purpose, I bring structure, strategy and calm creative thinking to every brief.
I don’t sell features. I don’t do trends. I design places that feel considered… and last.

I work with people at all stages of a project, from early planning to post-build burnout. But most of them have this in common: they’ve reached a point where the outside just isn’t working…
and it’s starting to show.
You’re not looking for a quick fix. You’re ready to do it properly, but not sure where to start.
"We’ve spent a fortune on the house, but the garden still doesn’t feel right.”

Now you’re left with a few paving slabs and a regret-shaped lawn. You want someone prepared to hear you, and do better.
"The builder said they’d ‘sort the garden’… but it’s not what we imagined.”

You want creative direction, a plan, a space that’s shaped around your life, not a supplier’s stock list.
“We’ve had quotes, but they’re all just lists of products and patio options.”

There’s never a perfect time, but the longer it sits unfinished, the more energy it takes up. You want clarity and you want progress.
“We keep putting it off, but it’s not going to fix itself.”

How I Work
Clarity from the first conversation
There’s a lot of noise out there. Garden quotes. Landscaping packages. Sales disguised as “consultations.”
This isn’t that.
My process is structured and collaborative. It starts with listening and ends with a space that reflects the way you live or work.
Every phase has a purpose.
Every decision earns its place.

I’m not here to be the face of a design empire. I’m here to do good work for good people and to make sure that what I create reflects who they are and what they really want from their space.
My clients trust me because I listen first.
I help them think things through, ask better questions, and design for the long-term, not just the install.
“Ian gave us clarity at a time when everything else felt chaotic. He made it make sense. And now we have a space that finally reflects how we want to live.”
